Hugues Laurenge is a Child Protection Specialist working at UNICEF Headquarters in New York. His role is to develop and lead the work of the office on mine action and explosive weapons, including explosive ordnance risk education, and in the implementation of various relevant treaties and protocols. Hugues has 22 years of experience in mine action and started with UNICEF in 2002, working for protection, education and communication engagement on policy, programme design and management from various headquarters and at the country level in Africa, Asia, and Europe. He holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of York.
